Subject: Eastnet Amprnet Shutdown.

   The Ampernet part of the Eastnet Amprnet FlexNet network is no longer
operational.  The Eastnet FlexNet RF networks in the Northeastern States and
Florida regions remain operational within their regions.  Eastnet Amprnet
TCP/IP switching was via hub0.northeastus.ampr.org hosted by Brian Rogers,
N1URO at his home QTH in Ludlow, MA.  hub0, hub128 and all other N1URO Amprnet
and FlexNet Packet systems were shutdown late May 2009.

  BBS forwarding via the FlexNet RF networks in each of the two regions
remains operational.  BBS forwarding to far off destinations remains
operational within the Northeastern States region.  Currently that is via
HF Pactor gateways:  KD1RY and W1WCG both in CT and WB3DTG at EPA.  Also
via HF Pactor, forwarding for NTS traffic: W1WCG in CT and WB2FTX at NNJ.

  Bulletin feeds on the Eastnet FlexNet RF networks in each region are
expected to restart soon.  That will be via the HF Pactor gateways in the
Northeastern States region and other networks in the Florida region.

  These Eastnet NetNews bulletins, Packet Maps, etc will no longer be
distributed by me via the FlexNet RF network.  They will be available here at
www.eastnetpacket.net  Eastnet Packet Maps for all areas and regions and the
Flexnet Destinations list are in the process of update and will be available
soon. Check in often for PMap updates and additional NetNews.
